“Who is the ‘I’?” — Returning to the Source

Every thought begins with “I”.
“I want…” “I feel…” “I think…” — but have you ever looked at this “I” itself?

Ramana Maharshi said:

“Trace the ‘I’ thought to its source. That is all you need to do.”

Don’t chase the contents of the mind. Instead, ask:

Who is thinking these thoughts?

Who is aware of this moment?

Where does this ‘I’ arise from?

This is not philosophy — it’s a direct pointer. The mind expects an answer, but true inquiry goes deeper than words.

Try this today:
When you say “I am…”, pause. Drop the next word. Just remain in “I Am” — pure, wordless being.

“Stay as the silent witness. Let thoughts come and go, like clouds drifting in the sky of awareness.”
— Ramana Maharshi

The goal is not to get rid of thoughts, but to realize you are not them.
You are the light in which all appears.

Stay with the question — not intellectually, but like a flame of attention: Who am I?
