Swami Sivananda — The Path to the Self is Within
Swami Sivananda’s teachings were simple, direct, and deeply rooted in Vedanta:
“Realize the Self. That is the goal of life.”
Though he honored all paths — Bhakti, Karma, Raja Yoga — his foundation was always Self-realization. He reminded us that liberation is not somewhere far away. It is found within your own being.
“You are not this body. You are not this mind.
You are the eternal Atman — infinite, blissful, ever free.”
He often gave this practical formula:
“Serve. Love. Give. Purify. Meditate. Realize.”
Serve with detachment.
Love without condition.
Give without ego.
Purify your heart through truth and simplicity.
Meditate daily, deeply.
And realize — you were never bound.
Even in daily life, Swami Sivananda urged one to remember:
“Feel that you are the silent witness. Whatever comes, let it come. Whatever goes, let it go. You are untouched — like the sun, shining above the clouds.”
Take a moment today to sit quietly.
Feel the stillness within.
That peace… is You.
