Life and Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda, born Narendranath Datta in 1863, was a visionary monk who played a pivotal role in introducing Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world. A disciple of the mystic Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Vivekananda rose to prominence with his groundbreaking speech at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago in 1893, beginning with the iconic words, “Sisters and brothers of America.”

From an early age, Vivekananda was drawn to spirituality and philosophy. His restless search for truth led him to Ramakrishna, who guided him through a deep transformation. After Ramakrishna’s death, Vivekananda took on the mission of spreading his master’s teachings, emphasizing the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul and the potential of every human being to realize God.

He traveled extensively across India and the West, delivering lectures, forming spiritual communities and advocating for social reform. His message of religious tolerance, universal brotherhood and selfless service resonated with people of all backgrounds. He was also a strong advocate for education, especially for women and the underprivileged.
