Ashtavakra Gita — You Are Ever Free

The Ashtavakra Gita opens with a thunderbolt:

“You are not the body, nor is the body yours.
You are not the doer, nor the enjoyer.
You are pure awareness — the eternal witness.
You are free. Go in peace.”
(Ashtavakra Gita 1.4)

This teaching is not a gradual path. It is a direct invitation to awaken now.

There is no long ladder to climb, no rituals, no techniques.
Only a bold recognition:

“I am not this. I am That.”

The text tells us: Bondage is in the mind. Freedom is your nature.
The only thing to “do” is to see clearly.

Let go of false identification.
You are not the story, not the struggle, not the seeking.
You are the open sky of awareness, in which everything appears — but which itself remains untouched.

“The Self is witness, beyond all divisions.
It neither acts, nor reacts. It simply Is.”
(AG 1.13)

Rest in that. No striving. No waiting.
Just abide as You are.
